We (Qiujing and Dean) are New Zealand documentary producers with an interest in stories that connect the world, and give voices to people who would not otherwise be heard. As directors of Borderless Productions, we learnt about these grandmothers twelve months ago whilst finishing a film for the World Kindness Foundation and realised how tragic it is that we have not heard their story.
Our ultimate vision for the film is that it generates a global Granny Connection Campaign where grandmothers of the world will be connected through financial means, exchange programs, letter writing efforts, granny retreats and fundraising events. Eventually, the world will acknowledge and honour grandmothers regardless of class, religion or race for their unconditional love, wisdom and strength.
