And Internet is free here. A magnificent place with trees indoors, so we're at an Irish pub of all places, checking emails, and relaxing until we board our next flight to Nairobi in a few hours. Felix and Susie will be there with their Kenyan flag to meet us...such excitement!
I wanted to mention also, as coincidence has it we start filming on 1st Dec, which just happens to be World Aids Day. So AGT production will be kick-started with a real bang as we are likely caught up in festivities around this.

The journey has begun
Its 3pm on November 29th, and we're packed and ready to go to the airport. There is no stone left unturned and if you read through the OFFICIAL site you will see that our work has been so well supported by so many great people!
CONTACTING US: We have Qiulae managing Borderless Productions while we're away so if anyone needs to get in touch with us, call her on 09 3023103 or 021 625 012.
Felix Masi will pick us up when we arrive in Nairobi on Nov 30th - and we are so full of anticipation. I just know that this is going to be an incredible journey and that we will be ready for whatever comes our way.
Otherwise, we're on emails and will also have a Kenyan cell upon arrival.
Ciao for now...

Two weeks to go until we leave for Kenya - Sponsor 'A Grandmother's Tribe'
Now that we have launched this BLOG I thought we'd add a few comments to it and test it out. With only 10 days to go until we depart for Kenya via Dubai, we decided to revisit our goals for the project. If you received our recent newsletter you will have read these...and if you would like to be a part of the newsletter distribution, email me and I will add you onto our fast-growing community of friends. qiujing@borderlessproductions.com
Sponsorship of the project is critical to ensure we can take as much as possible to grandmothers in Kenya this time we visit. We're told that gifts of animals, food, clothing and money is best and we will be taking all sponsorships before, during and after our visit between Nov 29th-Dec 27th 2006. It's really easy - visit http://www.borderlessproductions.com/a_grandmothers_tribe/index.html and contact us to make arrangements to become a sponsor.
We're currently looking into PAYPAL as a system to process these easier so bear with us as we try and work this out.
Thanks in Advance!

The Producers
We (Qiujing and Dean) are New Zealand documentary producers with an interest in stories that connect the world, and give voices to people who would not otherwise be heard. As directors of Borderless Productions, we learnt about these grandmothers twelve months ago whilst finishing a film for the World Kindness Foundation and realised how tragic it is that we have not heard their story.
Our ultimate vision for the film is that it generates a global Granny Connection Campaign where grandmothers of the world will be connected through financial means, exchange programs, letter writing efforts, granny retreats and fundraising events. Eventually, the world will acknowledge and honour grandmothers regardless of class, religion or race for their unconditional love, wisdom and strength.

About the film and campaign
'A Grandmother's Tribe' is a documentary feature film that captures the lives and voices of a select group of ordinary yet incredible grandmothers in Kenya.
The film's goal is to create a global movement to connect grandmothers around the world by giving a voice to the grandmothers of Africa who struggle everyday to care for the tribes of orphans left behind by parents who are victims to HIV / AIDS.
The grandmothers of Africa are the unsung heroes in a society crippled by poverty and disease. The normal cycle of African life is being turned on its head as parents in their twenties and thirties are being killed by HIV/AIDS and hunger leaving behind as many as 30 children in the care of the surviving grandmother. At risk of being left to die alone in their homes, these children have one last stop – their grandmothers’ homes and hearts.
'A Grandmother’s Tribe' will, for the first time ever, give the grandmothers of Africa a voice. It will not only touch the hearts of grandmothers around the world, but also anyone who has or has had a grandmother. It is a story of love, tenderness, courage and loss.
